We need Volunteers for the National Weekend

1Voice are looking for a few more volunteers to support AAC users during our National Conference.

We are looking to add to our pool of committed volunteers to help with our activities over the weekend. Experienced volunteers, trustees and workshop providers, will be on hand to support.

The AAC users are aged between 5 and 18 and are attending with parents/ PAs so volunteers do not provide personal care of any kind, but support in activity sessions.

Parents have the opportunity to attend their own workshops and AAC Users have group activity sessions.

The theme is ‘film’ so the younger ones will be involved in making a stop motion animation, the older ones in a script writing workshop run by The Shouting Mute – a film maker and poet who is an AAC user.

On the Sunday evening is the disco by DJ Oli who uses EyeGaze to DJ and project visuals.

Duties include getting rooms ready, moving resources around and supporting those running sessions to ensure the AAC users attending get the most out of it.

It is a lot of fun – interested?
