1Voice relies entirely on non-government grants and donations. The funds raised help us to put on events including the National Residential Weekend, to support our role models and volunteers and to continue to expand our branch network. Our fundraising is increasingly important to ensure that we can continue to bring AAC users and their family, friends and supporters whenever possible. We are grateful to all those who choose to support us.

Trustee Kate McCallum, inspired by a photo of people suspended in hammocks across a valley, joined forces with another 1Voice supporter to spend 12 hours overnight in hammocks, suspended from a zip wire. The challenge took place on 16 to 17 June 2018. Thank you Kate and Craig.

Cargill Plc - donation of £500 from their community team.

Sainsbury's plc - donation of £2,000.

Tobii Dynavox Community Team - donation of £150. Thank you to everyone on the Tobii Dynavox Community Facebook page for voting for us.

Blizzard Protection Systems Ltd - £167 donation from the commission on the sale of equipment by First Aid Cumbria.

The Eden Project - £160 raised from a charity craft afternoon.

Orford Bowls Short Mat Bowling - almost £150 raised from a Christmas draw and donation of prize money.

We are particularly grateful to those of our supporters who go the extra mile in completing personal challenges to raise funds for us. Recent events have included:

Reay - raised over £450 by completing the Victoria Park Half Marathon

Danny - raised over £400 by completing the York 10 mile event

Ian  - raised £550 by completing the 2017 Great Manchester Run 10k.

A big thank you also to everyone who shared the 1Voice Christmas message this year and made a donation to us instead of sending Christmas cards. Our supporters raised a fantastic £410 by doing this. In addition, over £150 was raised at a Christmas bake sale and a further small Christmas donation was raised by a group of primary school children/Brownies who held a stall at their local Christmas Fair. In total our Christmas campaign raised £580. THANK YOU to everyone who donated and helped to organise events.
