Volunteering with 1Voice
“How can I volunteer to support individuals who use augmentative and alternative communication?”
Want to gain great experience in the world of AAC? Interested in networking with like-minded folks in this amazing community of individuals?
There’s a range of ways to volunteer for 1Voice and you can commit to as much or as little as you wish. We’re always on the lookout for volunteers to get involved:
at regional branch events
at the residential weekend
at a one-day event
at online events
as trustees on the committee
by fundraising for us
Events: At events, volunteers support AAC users to access the activities and keep everything running smoothly. Volunteers don’t ever help with feeding or personal care as our members generally bring the PAs or family with them.
1Voice organises and pays for DBS checks and we will reimburse your travel and expenses so you aren’t ever out of pocket.
Committee: Committee roles involve monthly online meetings, to plan and manage 1Voices activities. We’re currently on the lookout for a Treasurer, so do get in touch if you could help with this!
Fundraising: If you’d like to fundraise for 1Voice, do get in touch.
