One-day event - North

Almost 60 people joined us for our first one-day event to celebrate 1Voice’s 25th anniversary year in Huddersfield on Saturday 26th April.  

We were pleased to welcome 5 AAC users to their first 1Voice event, as well as those who have been to many events over the years, including 5 people who were at the first ever event. There were games, switch toys and arts and crafts to enjoy. The petting zoo was a big hit! There was lots of time to chat to old friends and to make new ones. In the afternoon we had the almost obligatory 1 Voice disco with DJ Oli and rounded off the celebrations we had a special 1 voice cake.  

Many thanks to the Hollybank Trust for letting us use the great venue and to our fabulous volunteers. Thanks also to Adam for his speech celebrating the birthdays of both 1Voice and the wonderful Helen Dixon, who has been involved since 1Voice began. Thanks also to Becky Tyler for the wonderful birthday card personally designed for Helen! We are so grateful to our patron Beth Moulam for kicking off the event and spreading the word about it. 

We are looking forward to the next one-day event in Bournemouth on Saturday 21st June.
