Meet Dave from The Shouting Mute.

He is a poet, activist, mentor, and musician who runs his own disabled-led, inclusive arts company that challenges society's expectations of disability. During the presentation, Dave will touch on his own journey as a young AAC user through to adulthood and how his device has enhanced his communication, independence and has opened doors of opportunity, through working in theatre, creating and producing original music, performing live on stage and going into schools, colleges and universities delivering inspirational talks and workshops.

This is a fantastic opportunity for parents of AAC users to hear about Dave's experiences and ask him questions. There will also be time to chat to the other parents attending about any issues or ideas raised. Hearing from AAC role models is incredibly valuable, so 1Voice are trying out this new format of event to give more parents the opportunity to hear from, learn from and chat to them.
