Meet me (Frances) in the foyer, I’ll be wearing my black 1Voice t-shirt that says "Trustee" on the back. Find out more about me and see my photo here: https://www.1voice.info/trustees-1

What to expect: This is a friendly, informal gathering for anyone who uses AAC, is curious about it, or is working towards using it.  It’s open to all ages of AAC user, regardless of support needs, and diagnoses, and for the people who support them.
Our regular members are both adults and children. We have members who are experienced and skilled AAC users, as well as adult role models. We also have members who are still learning to use their AAC or are still working towards using their AAC outside of home or school. Everyone is welcome, and there is no pressure to use your AAC.
The visit will take place during the museum’s normal opening hours. From the foyer, we will explore independently in small groups, allowing us to engage with other AAC users. There is a café if you would prefer to sit and chat instead of exploring the exhibits. You are welcome to purchase your own refreshments in the café.

    Accessibility: https://www.scienceandmediamuseum.org.uk/visit#accessibility

All galleries and exhibition spaces are wheelchair accessible. Access to the different levels of the museum is via the lift. There are accessible toilets as well as a changing places facility. There is a quiet room available. Blue badge parking is limited on site (3 spaces); however, there are 2 council-operated car parks at Sharpe Street (270m) and Radwell Drive (450m).
