1Voice Yorkshire & North East

The Yorkshire and North East Branch re-started and re-branded in May 2023. We welcome members from across Yorkshire and beyond.

We aim to meet up in different areas across the region, three times a year - typically on a weekend, but are considering potential weekday events too!

We are trying out a range of activities to see what suits our members and have so far enjoyed: café trips, a chance to meet up and play board games, and craft together, as well as going bowling.

We are hoping 2024 will bring a garden party, a trip to a country park, as well as another opportunity to meet up and game, craft and chat together.

Frances is the branch co-ordinator and is very lucky to have the support of 2 volunteers; our 1Voice Patron Beth, and Jo, who is Mummy to an AAC user.

We welcome members of all ages and at any stage in their AAC journey, including anybody who wants to know more about AAC.

We are friendly group and our current members include both adults and children, experienced AAC users, Role Model AAC users, people who are still learning to use their AAC, and people are reluctant to use their AAC in public, as well as their families, personal assistants and supporters.

Our social events are very relaxed and everyone joins in as much or as little as suits them.

We’d love to welcome you to our Branch to catch up with friends or meet new ones - please do get in touch with Frances on 1voiceyorkshire@1voice.info.
