TCS London Marathon 2026
This year, we’ve had a fantastic team of runners in the 2026 TCS London Marathon. This year saw 59,830 runners completing the race, breaking the previous Guinness World Record for the largest number of finishers in a marathon. 1Voice have been lucky enough to secure four places in the marathon, guaranteed each year until 2029 - and this year Team 1Voice managed to raise £10,601.50. With + £1,594 Gift Aid, this brings their fundraising total to over £12,000 to help run groups for AAC users and their families!
We’d like to give massive thank-you to our runners, fundraisers, and all of you who donated.
Highlights
We’re delighted to hear that Judy placed first in her age group, coming top in 772 of her bracket.
Vikki says:
I’d like to say a huge thank you to 1Voice for giving me the chance to run the London Marathon this year. The training was tough, but I relished the challenge.
The day itself did not go fully to plan, the weather got to me, but I completed it and it was the thought of not letting down the charity, everyone who had sponsored me and my family, who have supported me throughout and were there on the day.
I’m so pleased to have gone through every step of this journey and I hope the money raised is useful to 1Voice!
It is an amazing charity and I’m proud to have represented you all at the event.
We were also delighted to see Beka and her family in the BBC’s
“My Reason to Run” segments. She has this to say:
I'll never forget this experience, I started with the intention of fundraising and most importantly raising awareness of the charity and the different and spectacular ways in which people communicate. I wanted to share my experience of the amazing work that is done by amazing people. They deserve a spotlight and to be appreciated for their selfless hard work and talents!
It turned out I got a lot more than I bargained for, I gained a love for running, I got healthier, more focused, more positive, my mental health improved and realised I was a lot tougher than I thought.
People came together and generously donated for an amazing cause. I felt the love and support of my family, friends and community. They now know more about my family and my daughter and have more understanding.
I work with children and it inspired them to raise money, to share awareness of AAC users and to run the marathon themselves one day.
My own children have seen me commit to something and finish, they were so proud and my son now wants to run the marathon for 1voice when he is old enough. We were inspired by those pushing people in wheelchairs and it's something we aspire to do one day with Evelyn. It's open our eyes even more to the world.
Running the marathon itself was an experience I will never forget. And I have learned so much about myself, my place in the world and who I am!
If you like a challenge this one is for you!
A huge thank-you to all the donators and supporters who helped make this happen. If Team 1Voice has inspired you, we’re gathering interest for our TCS London Marathon places in 2027:
