1Voice West Midlands Branch Officer awarded for commitment

Julie Atkinson, Branch Officer of 1Voice West Midlands recently received South Birmingham Primary Care Trust’s award for Commitment in 2010 – awarded to the individual or team that can demonstrate a passion to drive forward improvements for service users

She was nominated anonymously; the nomination said, “Julie has been instrumental in setting up a support group for children who use communication aids to compensate for difficulties with their speech. It is a national group (1 Voice) and Julie is setting up the only one of it's kind in the West Midlands, and she is doing some or most of this in her own time”
